Session 1 - Patterns of Dispossession and the Way forward with Resilience • Dr Mark Copland, Executive Officer for the Social Justice Commission for the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba. • Dr Maree Toombs, Director Indigenous Health, Rural Clinical School: Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland (Dr Mark Copland will outline Queensland legislation and the way it was used to enable the separation of First Nations people from their country, culture and kin. He will also describe instances of resistance. Dr Maree Toombs will describe the impacts of dispossession on the mental health of our First Nations peoples. She will share her experiences working with Aboriginal communities to address issues that impact on wellbeing for communities and their families. This will include the establishment of an Aboriginal Medical Service in an under serviced area.) Complimentary light lunch courtesy of Buranga Centre followed by:-
