ANTaR Queensland is affiliated with the national and other state ANTaR organisations. We undertake advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ justice and rights, work to overturn structural violence, support community outreach and contribute to ‘paying the rent’.

Free internet until December 2025Free School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) - providing free internet connections (including modems) for up to 30,000 economically disadvantaged families without current internet access.

The program is primarily intended as an affordability measure to help those with school-aged children who may be experiencing financial hardship.

To be eligible, families must:

✓ Have a child living at home that is enrolled in an Australian school.

✓ Not have an active National Broadband Network (nbn®) Internet service at home. Having a mobile internet service does not affect eligibility.

✓ Live in a premises that can access the National Broadband Network via a standard connection – this will be checked for you.

✓ Not have had an active nbn connection during the previous 14 days.

“Five different grant types are offered over the course of the program. These include large and medium research grants focused on providing opportunities for research and community programs aimed at addressing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community needs”
The Lowitja InstituteApplications are now open for Round 1 of the GLOWS Scholarships across two streams.

GLOWS Scholarship funding aims to offer supplementary financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander undergraduate and postgraduate students wanting to develop their skills and knowledge on how to increase health equity and address disparities that continue to drive the transmission of HIV/viral hepatitis within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
