SUMMARY:Traditional Indigenous Games at Hillbrook
DESCRIPTION:Just letting you all know we’ve rescheduled our Traditional Indigenous Games\, and will now be hosting them at Hillbrook on Thursday 23rd July\, 2026. We are going with our original plan of having a marquee set up for the Teralba Park Stolen Generations Support Group\, in the hope that you will be able to drop in for the day\, half day\, an hour\, or whatever works for you. We’ll be playing the games of Keentan (Kalkadoon) and Buroinjin (Kabi Kabi) and will have 8 schools from across the district present. \nYou are more than welcome to bring family and/or friends with you to the event. During our discussions throughout the year\, we have been hopeful of having an Elder’s tent where the students can come and say hello\, hear a story or have a yarn. If you’re able to join us\, please let me know so we can provide some catering for you. The opening ceremony will be at 9.00am\, with Refiti Tovi delivering the Welcome to Country\, and some of our students performing our own Hillbrook song\, ‘Mother Earth’. Games will run from 9.30 to 2.00pm\, with presentations of our Fair Play turtle shells (created by Nikki Jones – Quandamooka) and competition trophy. \nHopefully\, we’ll see you soon. Any questions\, please let me know. \nP: (07) 3354 3422\nW: www.hillbrook.qld.edu.au\n45 Hurdcotte Street\, Enoggera QLD 4051
