DESCRIPTION:Noonga Reconciliation Group\nfacilitated by volunteers of QAGOMA invite you too the\nFirst Nations Exhibition\nSunday 17th May 2026 at 10am\nBook Now  \nMeet out the front of QAGOMA with volunteer guides Gill & Catherine. \nLimited number of tickets available – book your ticket today \nNoonga Reconcilation Group in collaboration with volunteers of Gallery of Modern Art(QAGOMA) invite its members and supporters to join us to tour the following exhibitions: \nSnap Blak new rotation \nThis exhibition shows contemporary Indigenous photography that champions self representation\, identity and belonging \nInscribing a Life new rotation \nThis exhibition complements Kith and Kin and shares themes of memorials\, cosmic time\, the wonder of existence and celebrations of life and death. We will focus on indigenous artworks. \nKith and Kin by Archie Moore. \nAn opportunity to revisit this exhibition from 2024 Venice Biennale (optional) \nThis tour is Sunday 17th May 2026 at GOMA\, 10am start meeting out front of the Gallery of Modern Art \nThe tour will take approximately one hour with time for questions\, discussions and an opportunity to continue conversations over a self-funded coffee or lunch afterwards. \nWe thank Gill & Catherine our volunteer QAGOMA guides for holding space for our members and supporters to learn and share through the language of art and expression on Turrbal & Jagera lands. \nThis is a free event however if you want to donate to Noonga Reconciliation Group please get in touch by email at noonga.rg@gmail.com. DESCRIPTION:Hosts: Combined Wynnum Allies & Noonga Reconciliation Group Art Tour\nTour Guides: Gillian & Catherine\nEvent:  QAGOMA Indigenous Art Tour of Kith and Kin by Internationally acclaimed Brisbane Artist Archie Moore.\nDate: 10am\, Sunday 16 November 2025\nMeet at the Information Desk at GOMA\nCost: Free\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt GOMA\, Gillian and Catherine will Guide us through two co-located and complimentary exhibitions: \n​Kith and Kin and Inscribing a Life \nThe tour participants will divide into two groups\, and we will spend a full half an hour in each exhibition. \nFor those travelling by train from Wynnum Central Train Station\, we will be leaving at 9.00 am\, so we will meet ten minutes beforehand. If you join us from another train station\, we will be on the last carriage. \n​DO RSVP PLEASE​ \nFor all others\, we will meet you and our regular guides\, Gillian and Catherine\, a few minutes before 10.00 AM at the Entrance to GOMA. \nCatherine and Gillian — our experienced guides — decided to combine the Noonga Reconciliation Group and Wynnum Allies together. Each has a similar focus on First Nations Truth Telling as a strong focus of the visit. \nAfterwards\, we will go for (self-funded) coffee or a meal at the GOMA Bistro next to the Brisbane River. DESCRIPTION:Animals have played a central part in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and spiritual beliefs for over 60\,000 years. Native fauna form an integral part of relationships with Country\, in community\, and are a foundation of economies\, identity\, and sustainability. \nOver many millennia of co-existence\, animals have been central to survival as a food source for First Nations people. DESCRIPTION:Leslie (Gordon) Waraba Lister is a proud Yuwaalaraay/Gamilaraay aka Kamilaroi man from St George Old. He is inspired by traditions\, art and stories of his people. He is also Wakka Wakka/ Wulli Wulli through his father’s side and has connections to Eidsvold and surrounding areas in Qld. Gordon’s work has been exhibited in Brisbane\, Toowoomba\, Surat and Gladstone and features traditional crosshatching\, dots\, diamonds and lines\, which defines where he comes from. \nAccommodation and travel not included in price.
