SUMMARY:Yarning Circle with Dr Noritta Morseu-Diop hosted by Uncle Bill Lemson
DESCRIPTION:Dr Noritta Morseu-Diop grew up in poverty on Thursday Island\, in the Torres Strait. She went on to become the first Torres Strait Islander to earn a PhD from the University of Queensland. As she says herself: “Education pulled me out of poverty. It gave me the wings to fly.” \nBut what she did with those wings is why I wanted you to meet her. \nDuring her working life\, she visited an Aboriginal mother in prison whose six children were also locked up — seven members of one family locked inside at once. She has never forgotten it. She turned her whole life toward the people our justice system forgets: the ones inside\, and the families left behind….. \nFLYER: https://unclebill.online/downloads/FLYER-Dr-Noritta-Yarning-Circle-21-June-2026.pdf \nMore details and RSVP: \nhttps://unclebill.online/sealed/dr-noritta-morseu-diop-2026-06-21.html#rsvp \nWHEN\nSunday 21 June 2026 · 11.15 AM\nWHERE\nDarnell Room\, St John’s Anglican Cathedral\, 373 Ann Street\, Brisbane CBD\nWITH\nDr Noritta Morseu-Diop\, First Nations Counselling Practitioner\, Chair\, Gallang Place\nCOST\nFree · All welcome.\nRSVP please.
