‘Caring for Barrambin’ Day

The Yagara Magandjin Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) Elders will be announcing their official occupation of Barrambin with a “Balkari” (Welcome) Day on Saturday, 16th May.

This may be our last chance to protect this sacred land, before fences are proposed to go up on June 1st, as GIICA takes control of the land. It is fitting that what may be the last major community event, at this site, is being led by Aboriginal people who are returning to occupy this land.

Barrambin / Victoria Park, 309 Herston Rd, Herston, Brisbane, Australia (signed from Herston Rd carpark)
