YARNING CIRCLE with Uncle Billy Gorman

Uncle William ‘Billy’ Gorham, a Koa and Cobble Cobble man, came to Brisbane from Cherbourg as a young man and has since over the decades contributed to many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and committees, consistently speaking up on social justice, health, and socio-economic issues affecting First Nations people.
He served on the Council of Management of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane from 1996, was Board Chair from 2007 to 2018, and was made a Life Member at the organisation’s 50th Anniversary in 2023.
He brings deep cultural knowledge, leadership, and generosity to the May 17, 2026 Yarning Circle at St John’s Cathedral Brisbane.
Lemson. These events help deepen understanding of First Nations perspectives within the Cathedral community and beyond.
